Our Commitment
SchengenAI is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards.
Conformance Status
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities.
Accessibility Features
SchengenAI includes the following accessibility features:
- Keyboard navigation — All interactive elements are reachable and operable via keyboard. Tab order follows a logical reading sequence.
- Skip to content — A "Skip to main content" link appears at the top of each page for keyboard users.
- ARIA labels — Form inputs, buttons, and dynamic regions have descriptive ARIA labels for screen readers.
- Semantic HTML — We use proper heading hierarchy (h1 → h2 → h3), landmark regions, and semantic elements.
- Focus indicators — Visible focus outlines are shown for keyboard and switch users.
- Color contrast — Text and UI elements meet or exceed WCAG AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text).
- Reduced motion — Animations respect the
prefers-reduced-motionmedia query. - Responsive design — The site is fully usable at text sizes up to 200% zoom and on mobile devices.
- Alt text — Decorative images use
aria-hidden="true"; informative images include descriptive alt text. - Live regions — Dynamic calculation results use
aria-liveto announce changes to screen readers.
Known Limitations
We are aware of the following areas we are actively working to improve:
- The timeline visualization (calendar grid) is currently presented as a visual-only element. We are working on a text-based alternative summary for screen reader users.
- Third-party ad content (Google AdSense) may not meet all accessibility requirements, as it is outside our direct control.
Assistive Technology Support
SchengenAI has been tested with the following assistive technologies:
- NVDA with Chrome (Windows)
- VoiceOver with Safari (iOS and macOS)
- TalkBack with Chrome (Android)
